धर्म क्या है ?
इस सवाल को लेकर बहुत ऊहापोह चलता रहता है।
अनेक प्रकार के विवाद भी होते हैं।
लेकिन भारत के ऋषि-मनीषियों के मन में धर्म को लेकर कोई संशय नहीं है। ,,,,,,,,,,एक दम स्पष्टता है ।
धर्म के नाम पर चलने वाला तामझाम अलग चीज है ।
भागवत में ही प्रसंग है कि नारद जब युधिष्ठिर को प्रह्लाद का चरित्र सुनाते हैं,
तभी –
युधिष्ठिर नारद से प्रश्न करते हैं कि >>
“हे देवर्षि ! मैं सनातनधर्म का स्वरूप जानना चाहता हूं ।”
तब नारद युधिष्ठिर को सनातनधर्म का स्वरूप स्पष्ट करते हुए कहते हैं कि –
“भगवंछ्रोतुमिच्छामि नृणां धर्म सनातनम्।
वक्ष्ये सनातनं धर्मं नारायण-मुखाच्छ्रुतम्।
सत्यं दया तपं शौचं तितिक्षेक्षा शमो दम:।
अहिंसा ब्रह्मचर्यं च त्याग: स्वाध्याय आर्जवम् !
संतोष: समदृक्सेवा ग्राम्येहोपरम: शनै:।
नृणां विपर्ययेहेक्षा मौनमात्मविमर्शनम् ।
अन्नाद्यादे: संविभागो भूतेभ्यश्च यथार्हत:।
तेष्वात्मदेवता बुद्धि:सुतरां नृषु पांडव:।”
(भागवत ११ – ८-११)
“सत्य धर्म है,
दया धर्म है,
तप धर्म है,
पवित्रता धर्म है,
सहनशीलता धर्म है,
उचित-अनुचित का विचार धर्म है,
मन का संयम और इन्द्रियों का दमन धर्म है,
अहिंसा और ब्रह्मचर्य धर्म है,
त्याग-स्वाध्याय-सरलता और संतोष धर्म हैं।
सबको समान भाव से देखना और समान भाव से व्यवहार करना धर्म है,
सेवा धर्म है,
धीरे-धीरे भोग-प्रवृत्ति से उबरना धर्म है,
विनय [अभिमान न करना] धर्म है,
मौन धर्म है,
आत्मचिन्तन धर्म है,
जीवन की बुनियादी आवश्यकताओं >
अन्न आदि का यथायोग्य विभाजन धर्म है,
सभी में देव-भाव रखना धर्म है”

Sanatana-Dharma!
What is Dharma?
There are lot of Oops/Confusions/Doubts/Illusions about this question.
There are many types of disputes also.
But the Sages and Mystics of India have no doubt about Dharma…… there is absolute clarity.
The frills in the name of religion are a different thing.
In Shrimadbhagwat itself, when Narada narrates the character of Prahlada to Yudhishthira,
Then,
Yudhishthira questions Narada that –
“O Devarshi! I want to know the Nature/Characteristics of Sanatan-Dharma.”
Narada then clarifies the characteristics of Sanatan Dharma to Yudhishthira and says that –
“भगवंछ्रोतुमिच्छामि नृणां धर्म सनातनम्।
वक्ष्ये सनातनं धर्मं नारायण-मुखाच्छ्रुतम्।
सत्यं दया तपं शौचं तितिक्षेक्षा शमो दम:।
अहिंसा ब्रह्मचर्यं च त्याग: स्वाध्याय आर्जवम् !
संतोष: समदृक्सेवा ग्राम्येहोपरम: शनै:।
नृणां विपर्ययेहेक्षा मौनमात्मविमर्शनम् ।

“Dharma is Truth,
Dharma is Mercy,
Dharma is Tenacity,
Dharma is Purity,
Dharma is Tolerance,
Dharma is the Idea of fair and unjust,
Dharma is restraint of mind and suppression of senses,
Dharma is Ahimsa and Brahmacharya,
Dharma is Sacrificing-Self-learning-Simplicity and Satisfaction,
Dharma is to see everyone in the same way and behave in the same way,
Dharma is to Serve,
Dharma is to overcome from indulgence/materialistic enjoyment,
Dharma is Modesty,
Dharma is Silence,
Dharma is Self-determination,
Dharma is an appropriate division/sharing of basic necessities, including Food, among all,
Dharma is playing divinely/Godliness”
