सत्ता की प्रकृति ही मद है

देवराज इन्द्र सत्ता के नशे में था ,
त्रिशिर नाम के एक मेधावी को मार डाला ।
देवगण के बीच आक्रोश बढ़ गया और इन्द्र
देवों के क्रोध से भयभीत होकर भूमिगत हो गया ।

राजकाज अव्यवस्थित हुआ ,
ऋषियों ने नहुष को समष्टि का समर्थन दिया ,
उसको उत्साहित किया ,उसे तेज प्रदान किया और
स्वर्गाधिपति के रूप में अभिषिक्त कर दिया ।

नहुष देव तो नहीं था पुरुरवा का पौत्र था ।
आयु का पुत्र ।
सत्यनिष्ठ था ।

लेकिन सत्ता तो सत्ता होती है , उसकी प्रकृति ही मद है ।
मद नहुष को भी हुआ ।

अब वह आपे में नहीं रह सका , अप्सराओं के साथ केलिक्रीडा करता , ।

एक दिन इन्द्राणी शची उधर से निकलीं ,
उन्हें देख कर उसके मन में पाप जग गया और उसने कहा कि
अब तो इन्द्र मैं हूं , इन्द्राणी शची भी मेरी है ।वह तो इन्द्र के पास ही रहनी चाहिये , उसे बुलाओ ।

इन्द्राणी शची घबराई हुई देवगुरु वृहस्पति के पास पंहुची ।
पहले तो देवगुरु वृहस्पति ने नहुष को बहुत समझाया पर नहुष नहीं माना ,

वह तो कामार्त्त था ।

देवगुरु समझ गये कि देवराज का पतन भी मेधा के अपमान और हत्या के कारण हुआ और इसका भी पतन तभी होगा , जब यह मेधा और तप का तिरस्कार करेगा ।
इस समय यह मद में है ,कुछ भी अकर्म कर सकता है ।

देवगुरु ने शची से कुछ कहा और भूमिगत देवराज से भी शची को मिलवा दिया ।

तब शची ने नहुष से कहा कि >> यदि तुम सप्तर्षियों के द्वारा वहन की जाने वाली पालकी में बैठ कर आओगे ,
तो तुम्हारा स्वागत करूंगी ।

नहुष महर्षियों के कंधे पर रखी हुई पालकी में बैठा ।
उनसे कहने लगा >> जल्दी चलो ,जल्दी चलो ।

महर्षियों की गति बहुत धीमी थी और
नहुष नशे में जल्दी-जल्दी कर रहा था ।

उसने सर्प-सर्प [ जल्दी चलो ] कह कर अगस्त्य की पीठ में लात मार दी ।

क्षमाशील महर्षियों का क्रोध जगा >> नहुष , तू सर्प हो जा ,
तेरा पतन तुरन्त होगा ।

महर्षियों ने पालकी तो भूमि पर रख दी ,
जन आक्रोश के तेज में नहुष का विवेक नष्ट हुआ ,
नहुष का पतन हुआ और
वह अपदस्थ हो कर स्वर्ग से बाहर हो गया !

सत्ता के मद में विनाश हुआ ।

Power Addicts

King of Deities, Devraj-Indra was addicted with power.
He killed a meritorious man named ‘Trisheer’.

The Deities became very angry and Indra
fearing the wrath of the Deities, went underground.

The Kingdom of Deities disorganized and thus,
the sages had to give support of whole community to ‘Nahusha’.

They encouraged him, sharpened him and
anointed as the ‘Swargadhipati’ – King of Heaven.

Although, ‘Nahusha’ was not a Dev, a Deity, but was the grandson of King Pururava and son of aayu.
He was an honest one!

But power is power, its nature is addictive. The addiction also happened to ‘Nahush’.

Now he could not keep up with his temper and indulged in doing kelikrida, lust-enjoyment with Apsaras.

One day Indrani Shachi, wife of Indra, was going from there, seeing her, sin arose in his mind and he said that, “As now I am Indra, Indrani Shachi is also mine. She should be near Indra,,,, call her near me.”

Indrani Shachi got nervous and reached to ‘Devguru Brihaspati’.

At first, Devguru Brihaspati explained Nahusha a lot but Nahusha did not consider anything explained.

Nahusha was Amorous.

Devguru understood that the decline of Devaraja also happened due to insult and murder of intellect and Nahusha will also fall only when he will despide Intellect and tenacity.

At this time he is addicted, intoxicate, he can do anything intense.

Devguru said something to Shachi and introduced Shachi to the underground Devaraj as well.

Shachi then told Nahush that >> if you will come in a palanquin carried by the Saptarishis,
then I will welcome you and will be yours.

Nahush sat in a palanquin placed on the shoulders of the Seven-Maharishi.
He started saying to them >> Move fast, move fast.

The Maharishi’s speed was very slow and
Nahush was drunk and kept repeating “Move fast! move fast!”.

He kicked Maharishi-Agastya’s back by saying Sarp-Sarp [hurry up].

The permissive Maharishi’s anger wake up, cursed – “Nahusha, you become a snake,
your degression will happen immediate.”

The Maharishis placed the palanquin on the ground,
Nahush’s prudence was destroyed in the rage of public outrage,
Nahush regressed and he was deposed and got out of heaven !
